From California, Kentucky, and Texas, Alex Chand is currently an MFA student in poetry at the University of Mississippi. She is the recipient of a Fulbright grant, an alumna of Barbican Young Poets and UniSlam UK Finalist. Chand holds an MA in English Literature from the University of Leeds and a BA from Lawrence University in physics and English, where she was awarded the Diderrich Prize in Creative Writing and earned summa cum laude honors for her thesis, Charting Autistic Voices.
